Demountable Transformer Model

Product Code : SCL-EE-12367

Quick Answer: The Demountable Transformer Model is a teaching transformer that can be taken apart, used to show how alternating current in a primary coil induces a voltage in a secondary coil through a magnetic core.

Last updated: October 2026

Key Features

Demountable format shows coil arrangement, core placement and construction
Demonstrates mutual induction and magnetic flux linkage
Explains turns ratio and voltage transformation
Can support step-up and step-down demonstrations, subject to supplied coil ratings

About This Product

Students identify the primary coil, secondary coil, core parts and terminals, assemble them to the experiment diagram and connect the primary to a low-voltage AC supply, with a meter or indicator on the secondary. Switching on shows the induced output, and coil combinations are changed only with the supply off. The model is not connected directly to mains unless the apparatus is rated and protected for that use.
