Newton’s Cradle Model
Product Code : SCL-MF-12334
Quick Answer: The Newton’s Cradle Model is a physics demonstration apparatus with a row of suspended balls, used to show conservation of momentum, energy transfer and elastic collision behaviour.
Last updated: October 2026
Key Features
- Releasing one end ball sends a ball at the opposite end moving outward.
- Shows momentum transfer from one moving ball to another.
- Helps explain kinetic energy transfer in collisions.
- Supports discussion of ideal and real collision behaviour.
- Manual operation with no electricity, battery or external power.
About This Product
With the balls aligned and hanging freely, one end ball is pulled slightly away and let go without a push. The impact carries motion through the row, and the demonstration can be repeated by lifting two balls and comparing the output motion. Students relate what they see to momentum, kinetic energy, impulse, inertia and collision theory. The cradle is handled under teacher supervision and also works as a science exhibition display. Export supply of the Newton’s Cradle Model can be arranged to laboratories and schools in Rwanda, Mexico, Poland, Gambia, Madagascar and Panama.
