The ac and dc outputs may be used simultaneously, provided the combined output does not exceed 8.5A.
Internal heavy duty relays allow the voltage to be switched without switch contact problem, ensuring long switch lifetime.
The output voltage is selected by a rotary switch on the front of the unit, output is in 1V steps up to a maximum of 13V.
It provides 0 - 13V ac or unsmoothed dc in 1V steps at a maximum current of 8.5A.
The internal, quiet-running fan will hardly be noticed but it reduces the already low thermal stress in the unit still further, ensuring long life of the instrument.
Triple protection is provided by a resettable electronic overload trip, thermal transformer trip and slow-blow fuse on the primary.
The mains cord is kept tidy, by means of the cable retainer on the back of the unit which allows the cable to be stowed away neatly with the use of winding hooks and a clip to secure the cable.
Overloads are indicated by the LED changing from green to red.
The unit is recommended for general purpose laboratory work by teachers, technicians and students.
